Pensacola International (PNS) is the western gateway to the Emerald Coast and the airport many Destin journeys start at. One terminal, baggage claim on the lower level, and a chauffeur meeting the flight against its number rather than a guessed-at time.
Leaving PNS
Cars leave PNS on Airport Boulevard and I-110, then east on I-10 and US-98 for Navarre, Fort Walton Beach and Destin — about an hour and a half of it, and worth booking as a private transfer rather than assembled from pieces. Pensacola Beach is twenty minutes the other way, over the bridge.
The work at PNS
Long transfers east along the coast are the pattern here, usually in an SUV or a Sprinter because the luggage is holiday luggage. Naval air station visitors and conference traffic into Pensacola itself take sedans and keep the car for the day.
