Landing at PIE
St. Pete–Clearwater International (PIE) is the smaller of the Tampa Bay airports and the quicker one to get out of. One terminal, one baggage claim, and a kerb you can see from it. The chauffeur meets the flight at baggage claim, booked against the flight number and tracked on the day.
Leaving PIE
Cars leave PIE on Roosevelt Boulevard. The Gulf beaches — Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island — are a short run west, and Tampa is across the bay on the Howard Frankland or the Gandy, which is the bridge that matters when one of them is slow. Downtown St. Petersburg is fifteen minutes south.
The work at PIE
This is beach traffic. Most bookings are a flight met and a resort reached, in an SUV when there are golf clubs or beach kit, a Sprinter when a family arrives together. It is also the quiet way into a Tampa meeting for anyone who would rather not land at TPA at eight in the morning.
